What Will You Learn
The six week cohort is a mix of DIY (do it yourself) and DWY (done with you) course material. It is designed to transform the dreamer into a first time author by providing clear instructions, guidelines, and resources to equip you to write your story and self-publish your dream workbook.

You will learn the essentials needed to become a self-published author. This is a hands on accelerated course for motivated writers who have already laid the groundwork for writing their book and telling their story.

Course Outline

Week One
  • The Mindset to Write. Everything begins with mindset.
  • What is Self-Publishing? Learn what self-publishing means and the different types of self-publishing options
  • Identifying Your Target Audience. Learn the importance of a target audience, what a target audience is and identify yours.
  • Tailoring your title and subject to attract your readers.
Week Two
  • Using Canva to Design Your Workbook. Learn the simplest way to begin drafting your book in Canva
  • Learn the elements and sections of your book.
  • How to format your book
Week Three
  • Using Canva to Design Your Workbook
Week Four
  • Review Canva draft
  • Prepare draft for Kindle Publishing
Week Five
  • Edits and Reviews
Week Six
  • Edits and Reviews
Week Seven
  • Marketing and generating a profit
Week Eight
  • Publish to Amazon. You are officially a Self-Published Author!

Who Will You Learn With
You will be in a cohort with strong women, like yourself, who have a story to tell. You will begin together and you will conclude together with a finished product, your self-published work of art.

Empowered women, empower women. You will be encouraged to stay on task, and you will also encourage your sister to get her book done as well. You will support one another's work. It is sisterhood at its finest.

Where Is The Class Held

When Is The Course
The class will take place in a live virtual environment. Authors will interact with instructors as well as their cohorts.  A link is sent 24 hours before the first class.
The live instruction is held every Tuesday evening at 6 PM or Saturday at 12 PM EST for six weeks. There is a maximum of seven authors per class.
This is a hands-on accelerated course for motivated female writers who have already begun to lay the groundwork for writing their book and telling their story.

This course is not for you if you do not know what type of book you want to write. This course is not designed to help you brainstorm or come up with something to sell to make quick money. This course is for you if,
  • You have some sections, chapters, and/or activities written but not pulled together for a finished product because you are stuck or unaware of next steps.
  • You have a story of triumph to share to empower as well as activities to guide and help others to achieve like success.
  • You have the motivation to commit to the time and necessary work to start and finish your dream of publishing your first book.
You do not need to have all the work ready and written to go, but you must have begun the process before joining this cohort.

  • Templates tailored to draft your workbook - you're not doing this alone! Bring what you have started and we will provide the framework to get it done. Choose the best template for your book and make it yours by filling in your words and graphics.
  • Necessary resources to find the best graphics and designs for your published work, as well as editors and freelancers needed for a professional product (these costs are not included in the course)
  • Hands on instruction to navigate through Canva and Amazon to design and publish your work
  • Guidance to setup payment portals to sell your finished product, independently
  • One 30-minute 1-1 session with your instructor to receive feedback, ask questions, or receive a critique of your progress
