Overcome setbacks of the past: you are stronger than your weakest moments

I'm a single mom who went from crazy bad credit, public housing and public assistance to owning my own home, paying off a car, improving my credit, reducing my debt, starting a business and a non-profit, raising one awesome chick, and doing what makes me the most happiest, serving others.

Believe it or not, I couldn't say that a few years ago. In fact, it was hard for me to give myself props, period. I didn't look for validation from others, either, I just didn't know how to give it to myself. I didn't value what I did and the hard work it took for me to do it.

I allowed past mistakes, choices, and decisions to shape the direction of my life. I didn't have enough faith in my ability to do more, nor did I really know what MORE was. I was content in fear and ignorance. Then, one day I came to myself. Genuine faith arose in me, and with baby steps I began to make subtle changes and over time I saw results. Trust me, it wasn't an overnight process. I fought doubt, self-imposed limitations, insecurities and a whole lot of other inner junk.

At times, I still minimize how awesome God really made me. A huge part of that is due to the struggle I had with not knowing my worth. But, I get it, now. Whatever happened yesteryear is said and done. You have to put the past behind you so you can obtain what God has for you (Philippians 3:14). And what God has for you is greater than any prior issues, debt, divorce, heartbreak, rejection, disappointment, and sorrow.

what happened to you, doesn't define you!

Rock on with your bad self! Chin up! Keep moving forward and go after every dream and desire that sits in your heart. You are more than capable to overcome every set back and you are worthy to have the peace, happiness, joy, financial stability, love, and whatever else good you want, because you deserve it.
